Cristiano Ronaldo is the first person

Cristiano Ronaldo is the first person to accomplish this remarkable feat during the FIFA World Cup.

After scoring the first goal in Portugal's World Cup match against Ghana on Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score at five different World Cups.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in the spotlight for the majority of the past two weeks, grabbed headlines on Thursday once more with a remarkable accomplishment. When Portugal faced Ghana in Group H action at the Stadium 974, all eyes were on him, and he responded to the challenge as he has so frequently in the past. On Thursday, he did something that has never been done before by a male football player. Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 65th minute of the game to give Portugal a 1-0 lead. Ronaldo made history by becoming the first male footballer to ever score in five different FIFA World Cups with his goal. Portugal ultimately prevailed in the game 3-2.

He surpassed Pele and the Germans Miroslav Klose and Uwe Seeler, who also scored in four World Cups. Ronaldo also increased the number of goals he has scored for his country, which is a global record, to 118. Ronaldo scored his eighth World Cup goal in his career with the normally ice-cold penalty kick, capping up a turbulent week that saw the star forward shockingly leave Manchester United following weeks of hostilities with the team.

However, there was debate regarding the penalty, which was given when Ronaldo theatrically fell to the ground after making only slight contact with Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu.

With an equaliser in the 73rd minute, Andre Ayew gave Ghana some hope, but goals from Rafael Leao and Joao Felix gave the Euro 2016 victors the lead. Ghana received a late consolation goal from Osman Bukari.

After criticising the team and manager Erik ten Hag in a TV interview, Manchester United announced this week that Ronaldo would be leaving with immediate effect. However, Ronaldo has shown no signs of stress throughout his entire stay at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, who holds the record for most goals scored by a man in a single international competition, started in his usual center-forward position for the Group H match, just two days after parting ways amicably with Manchester United.

In a contentious interview last week, Ronaldo, 37, attacked Man United coach Erik ten Hag and the organisation as a whole, leading to ten Hag's eventual departure.
